TERC staff worked with UMass-Amherst researchers to create middle school math and data analysis curriculum activities for use with probability modeling software embedded in TinkerPlots. The project drew on a variety of cutting edge research and development work to build tools for students to reason and learn about probability through a modeling approach. It explored how students could learn about probability and random-based processes by making computer modeling a central rather than peripheral part of instruction in probability.
