Biographical Summary

In nearly 9 years at TERC, Erin Bardar has been involved in numerous curriculum development, professional development, and education research projects. She is currently the Education Materials Director for the Educational Gaming Environments group (EdGE) at TERC, focusing on how to bridge free-choice games and formal classroom science instruction. Erin is also co-PI of EarthScope Chronicles and is a senior curriculum developer for the EarthLabs project.

Erin has a background in physics and astronomy. She was a NASA Graduate Student Research Program (GSRP) fellow at Boston University where she earned a PhD in Astronomy for her research on introductory college students’ understanding of light and spectroscopy. Erin is also the creator of the Light and Spectroscopy Concept Inventory, and has a U.S. patent for a binocular spectrometer.
